The grass is drying out but still the weeds are growing and flowering. Pity then we had to buy in water for our tanks this week.

Super Easy Pasta Dish
I have this pasta meal that is a go too when I have very little time. I have been asked for this recipe and since I invented in a rush one day it is less than perfect. Needless to say my family love this meal.
Egg Fettuchini with tomato, bacon and capsicum (or vege of choice)
Ingredients
10 rashers of chicken bacon
1 medium onion diced
1 capsicum diced
1 400 g of chopped tinned tomatoes
fresh basil to taste - I use about 3/4 cup of basil
salt and pepper
500g egg tagliatelle
Method
1. Cook tagliatelle according to packaging
2. At the same time, in a saucepan, put bacon and diced onion in a heated saucepan. Cook for about 1 minute or until the onion is transparent and bacon is just cooked.
3. Add to the saucepan the capsicum, tomatoes, basil and seasoning to taste. Cook until it is all heated through.
4. Take the saucepan off the heat and add the pasta to the sauce in the saucepan.
It is best served immediately.
This recipe serves 2 adults and 2 children.

(On this day I only had yellow capsicum left in the fridge so dinner was not so colourful but still tasted great.)

Love me
It has been quite some time since a really cute conversation took place in our house.
Todays conversation is one that has been said for a few months in our house but is just so perfect.
Setting the scene: McKenzie is leaving the house with her father at 6.40am so that she can catch the bus for school. Hayden and I are at home finishing his breakfast/ medication regime. Hayden has language confusion.
Hayden Nenzie (how Hayden says McKenzie's name)...........Love me (he really means I love you)
McKenzie Oh thanks....I love me too. (McKenzie has a large smile on her face, she knows what he means)
This makes Hayden very happy.

Another surgery.
Today is the day when I am taking Hayden into hospital for one of two surgeries we know he will have in the first 5 months of this year. He is very nervous petrified of going into an operating room. I know that I would not put him through this if it was not necessary.
In fact he is nervous just going to see the Dental Nurse. So you can imagine what he is feeling when he sees an operating theatre.
As for me I feel somewhat sad every time Hayden undergoes intervention. Only because I know it is hard on him but necessary.
I really wish that this was not what Hayden life had come too.

Fridays Fabulous Finds #
Summer is still here and I am back at work. None the less here are my links for the week.
- Sport can teach us many things but the action of this Canadian coach at the winter Olympics really summaries most of it.
- Dr Kelly Flannagan writes to his daughters. I love this post about fashion and makeup which can be found here. His blog is here it is a great read.
- For the technically interested here is how to make a clickable signature.
- Just love this use for a mason jar. I think that my niece and nephew who have just left school might be getting one of these.
- How about a lotion for a little stress relief. It might some benefits. I have yet to try but worth the effort I think.
Have a great weekend.

It worked.
I take a lot of advice from the WWW with caution especially because you just don't know who is to be trusted and who is not.
With this in mind I was looking for a solution to remove the few paint splotches that ended up on our carpet. Having used a water based paint I thought that it would be an easy fix but the paint had already dried and was being very stubborn.
A quick search of the web and I found numerous solutions and cautiously picked the one that would not impact on my carpet in any undesirable way. So I was pleasantly surprised when my painted started lifting with relative ease.
So here is the recipe.
Recipe for Removing Dry Water Based Paint.(as found here)
Mix together
some very hot water, not too much as it goes cold quickly
a small squish of dish washing liquid.
A soft cloth
That's all there is to it. Put a small amount of the mixture onto the paint. Give it a few moments to warm the paint up and then you will find it will lift very easily.
You have to trust me the paint on the carpet was just right of the container.

Fridays Fabulous Finds #47
Another post is here and I have more of my favourite links.
- Here is a heart pulling moment which rings very close to my extended family. It comes from the Washington Post and is about adoption.
- I have been making plum jam with all these plums we have been given. So here are some crock pot jam recipes. I used this strawberry recipe but adapted it for my plums.
- Maybe you are looking for some printable cards for Valentines day.
- Oh and some more valentines cute ideas.
- If you are ever looking for more fonts you should try over a Fonts for Peas.
One project finished.
I always get excited when I finally get the printed copy of a digital scrapbooking project I have been working on. It is very satisfying to spend all year on a project, finish it and then have time to sit and read all that has been written.
Yesterday I received my hard cover version of Project 365 2013 book. Unfortunately you can't see the individual pages up close as my favourite gallery to post them into, closed down.
I love getting my books, this is the third one I have completed, looking at the elements and the things that make me want to touch the pages to check if the elements are real.
So without any further waiting here is what my book looks like.....(Ok I had to lie it on the floor to take the photos.)
I used templates, most paper and elements all by Gina Marie Huff at Weeds and Wildflowers and then a few bits and pieces from Lindsay Jane Designs.
Now on to the other projects that need finishing.

Wordless Wednesday 5 February
After a little persuasion from a friend at work my two boys and I had our first go at Geo caching. It was something we did while McKenzie was at Speech and Drama
After 15 minutes of looking we had success
So now Andre is asking when we are going looking again. I think we can go when the homework he does in the car is finished. Our home location has lots of sites to find.
