Fridays Interview
This friday I interviewed my DS2. He is just 6 years old.
If you could have one super power what would that be?
To throw people around? (with actions to demonstrate)
What wa the last movie you saw at the theatre?
Fantastic Mr Fox
How do you get to school.
by car
What is your favourite song?
My timestables.
What do you like to eat for lunch?
Apples and grapes.
What was the nicest thing you have done lately for someone in your family?
I did the dishes.
What chore did you do last?
Clean the fridges water holder.
What is your favourite joke?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To cut the corner. ??????
Where would you like to go on holidays next?
To Seaworld and to a Jonas concert.
What makes you mad?
When McKenzie does something not nice to me.

Shoes Makeith the Woman
Shoes makeith the woman ......well the girl in this case. As my little, or not so little, girl heads quickly towards an age with double digits I am forced to think about how to help her fit in but to my modest set of rules. Of course with little girls that usually has something to do with how they look.
As McKenzie is tiny in size and that means she fits clothes of little girls two years younger than her. It has not been a problem until a move of school and trying to find new friends forced me to sit back and look at what was being asked of me. Luckily McKenzie is not label conscience and so I am able to fulfill what is needed without spending a small fortune.
So off to my favourite on line shop for little girls and with just a few dollars spent one well loved pair of shoes ready to be worn.

Of course I need to scrapbook this moment so here it is.

Questions for my Daughter
Here are the questions I asked. DD is 9 years old.
Who is the smartest person you know?
Me because I can answer all my timetales better than Andre and Hayden
What is your Dad really good at?
At cricket bowling and kicking at rugby ball.
What can you do better than Dad?
I can run faster and wack the ball higher in cricket.
What did Dad and you do together that you will never forget?
Playing games in the front yard.
How are you like Mum?
We both have messy spaces sometimes and like privacy in the shower.
How old is Mum?
43
How tall is Dad?
3 meters
What is one thing that Mum is always saying?
Please clean your room.
Where would you like to go on your next holiday?
To Disneyland.
How different are you from Mum?

Life has it's little surprises.
As my loyal blog readers would know my DS1, Hayden, is disabled. Amoung many of the things that challenge his life, is his ability to socialise and make friends. This does not seem to be an issue to him and we don't necessarily add it to the long list of other things that already are significant challenges.
Anyway this little challenge means that he has no play dates or sleep overs or other invitations like other children. He does not know that this happens for others so not a problem. It was the biggest surprise then, when I get this phone call, out of the blue, from the parent of a child in Haydens special class inviting him to the birthday party of their son. Well you could have knocked me over with a feather. This is a first ever moment in Haydens after life that he has had such an invite. (The after life is opposed the life he had before he suffered his medical event). I am pleased that this mother thinks that Hayden is friendly with her son. Hayden was very excited to see he had got a letter in the post inviting him.
I guess that this will be a moment to remember.
Life is full of unexpected little surprises.
Here is a page I made. It might just explain how Hayden has no social skills.

Just now....
Just now...
Outside my window....it is a typical autumn day. A little grey, windy enough to to dry the washing and warm enough to know that it is not winter and yet not summer.
I am thankful for...each day and all the wonderful things that happen
I am wearing...a long skirt and t'shirt
I am remembering... how long DH has been away and how great it will be to see him tomorrow.
I am going...to make the last of the long list of phone calls that have been seeking my attention.
I am currently (still) reading... nothing. I am too tired at night to do so but cant wait for the holidays to arrive as I have two books to read and make up for the months between January and now when I have read very little.
I am hoping...that I am full of positivity this weekend.
On my mind... is how long it will take to sell our how so we can get on with things.
Noticing that... I need to take more care of myself.
Pondering these words...A smile is a curve that sets everything straight. ~Phyllis Diller
From the kitchen...I am glad that I make a weekly menu plan. It means that I dont need to think too hard in the evenings.
Around the house...I need to use the vaccuum cleaner that is sitting in the middle of the floor.
One of my favorite things... using my valuable free time wisely.
I'm creating...a special album for DH as a surprise.
A few plans for the rest of the week...to make a list of things to do during the holidays and plan some seriously fun times that dont necessarily cost too much money.
