Mondays Menu 23 June

The beginning of another week and the nearly the end of the term.

Here is my menu

Monday  spaghetti bolognaise

Tuesday  curry chicken pasta

Wednesday  falafels with rice green salad and yoghurt dressing.

Thursday  french onion soup with home made bread.

Friday  pumpkin and bacon soup with baked flat bread.

Saturday honey ginger and soy stirfry with my selection of vege and meat.

Sunday  leftovers.

I am out of hospital after Hayden's toes is fixed.  See my blog post here

So here is what it all looks like on the other side of surgery.

The Toe

Hayden has a bent toe.  It has gradually been bending.  We know for sure it is not rickets, something that people with cystinosis can sometimes get.  In fact we have no idea why this has happened as it is something that the elderly usually need medical intervention for.

So with his toe so bent  and pressing into the toes beside it surgery is necessary so it can be pinned.

Fingers crossed Hayden adjusts to the cast on his foot quickly.

Monday Menu 16 June

This is a rather hectic week in our house so our meals are really easy.

Monday   meat pie with baked potato and green vege.

Tuesday   crockpot on rice.

Wednesday  Creamy Chipotle Tomato Soup

Thursday   easy fried rice

Friday   Homemade hamburgers

Saturday  french onion soup.

In 35 years

Friday was a full moon and Friday 13.  This is a rare moment in time.  In fact it will happen again in 35 years when I will sure be old and grey.

So using this tutorial from Capture Your 365 by Katrina Kennedy I took out my SLR camera and its book and had a go at capturing the moon. 

One moment in time recorded on a crisp June evening.

Fridays Fabulous 5 #57

 

The year is passing by fast and believe it or not the weather still reaches moment when I think that my winter layers are just too much and I should have my sun dress on.  I sure wont be holding my breath as winter in full is yet to arrive.

Anyway enough of the small chat.  Here are my finds for this friday.

Our Fabulous Neighbour.

The lovely Faye live just 5 minutes down the road.  She is the very young age of 70 and lives alone with her many animals including Lucky...her rescue dog.

Hayden  has taken a liking to visiting Faye and her dog.  She has taken a liking to Hayden visiting. 

So this is what a visit to Fayes house looks like.

Great friends.

Lucky was a very anxious dog when he was rescued.  Now he hears Hayden coming up the road and barks with excitement at his pending visit.

We are not in a position to care for a dog. You really need the time to dedicate to one.  Something we don't have much of.

So thank you to Faye.  Hayden has these photos hanging on the wall in his room.  He can't wait to show us these photos most days.

Mondays Menu 9 June

The week began with a big rain.  In fact I am posting this on Tuesday and it is still raining....and cold.

So without writing any more here is my menu.

Monday  easy vege fried rice

Tuesday  steak, baked potato and salad.

Wednesday  Barbecue Beer Braised Beef with steamed green vege and baked potato

Thursday  beef wrap with salad vege and cold meat (warmed up from yesterdays leftovers)

Friday  French onion soup (crockpot)

Saturday  Out for dinner.  

Sunday  Coconut Thai Curry chicken
