Just sometimes the best stories don't have the best photos but here they are anyway. Andre had decided that he was going to be Bear Grills and sleep in our Fejoa tree over night.
This first photo is the bed in the tree with wood as the base and branches to act as the matress.
Then there is the talking to me trying to persuade me that it was a good idea to sleep outside for the night.
Then finally the demonstration that the bed holds his weight.
Needless to say Andre slept inside where it was warm.

Ah, boys and trees and sleeping outside! We don't have a tree big enough to sleep in but Boyo was asking this morning about going camping so he can toast marshmallows and sleep outside. It's not very cold in Sydney but cold enough to sleep inside - especially when he is fighting off a cold! :)
Haha.. I remember making outside beds!
Love it. My kids build similar structures all over the place and then wonder why I'm not keen for them to stay under them for any length of time!
I think every boy has a 'tree house' at some stage. That 'tree bed' doesn't appear to have much room to roll over, no wonder you didn't allow him to sleep in it!
Hehe...he's trying to convince you that he's very comfortable in that last one. Glad to hear he came to his senses :0
I would have let him try it. I bet he would have been knocking on the door asking to come in after a couple of hours. Or you could have just told him he is sleeping like gorillas do. That might have bought him back to reality too!
Haha Tamara, that's a classic!
Great pictures. I like, nice.
So this is what boys get up to and what I have to look forward to...
It would have been freezing. But good on him in showing some creativeness and wanting to do it. Maybe in summer ;)
Oh this just made me laugh. We have Bear Grylls mania in our house too at the moment with my oldest so I can really relate to this one :) xx
This is brilliant! My favourite post of your by far! Gotta say, your boy is far cuter than the tv version!
Too cute! I was an outdoorsy kid and spent most of my childhood up a tree so I can relate to your little BG ;)
