There's definitely an art to cutting back roses - sometimes I have it, sometimes I don't lol. Did you know there are thornless ( prickle less doesn't sound right!) roses. What was the name of the one with the broken stem? Take card Cathy
I do really love, love my roses and always look forward to that week in November when they burst into flowers. But pruning time has me swearing at them, those thorns are a pain!

Really Great ! Wonderful thorns!
Gloves are mandatory when dealing with roses! But the scent of roses - glorious - makes it worthwhile. :)
The thorns are stunning aren't they? Plants are amazing!
OUCH!

Beautiful photo Tamara! Nature can be so scary, can't it?
Did you know roses don't have thorns, they are in fact technically prickles - useless fact No 45!!! Love the smell of roses though

Ouch, they are doozies. Love how roses smell though!
I love roses, but yes I agree, thorns not so much!
Yes those thorns are super nasty! The flowers are stunning however...
I don't love thorns either but roses I couldn't do without.
